Advice? I got your advice right here. 1. Don’t pack clothes that you already don’t wear with the expectation that you’ll suddenly wear them overseas. You’re going to buy clothes that are more in fashion over there so save yourself some room for the return. 2. Try and expand your friend group past others who are studying abroad. It’s easy to stick to the other Americans out there because of shared experience and while I love them i ended up with only a handful of friends who weren’t American.

3.Don’t stay in just the city or country your studying abroad in. It’s crazy easy to go to other countries once you’re in Europe. I studied abroad in London and ended up going to literally 10 other countries while I was there. It was amazing and would’ve cost me a fortune if I tried to plan a trip like that from the states. 4. Don’t get stuck in a routine once your there. A few weeks into my program I noticed I was going to the same two pubs and like Pret everyday so I changed it up 5. I know I already said it about packing but it’s really really important to not over pack. I ended up having to leave so many cute clothes and things cause I had to prioritize what I could fit and shipping things was really expensive. I brought two big suitcases and a backpack and purse and I honestly could have fit all my clothes I actually wore in one bag and kept the other one mostly empty for souvenirs/things I brought back. I still dream about the pair of booties I had to leave behind 😔

lmao i thought i overpacked but my suitcase was 12lbs under the limit!!! hell yeah!!!! so hopefully leaving stuff behind won’t happen (she says…hopefully but not confidently)

as for 3- i’m gonna try mad hard. it’s extra hard just bc i…. don’t speak the language of the people i’m supposed to be making friends with, but i’m taking one class in english with a bunch of native french students and so hopefully a few of them want to practice their english as much as i wanna practice my french!!!
