tbh i spent a whooooole lot of time the first 2 weeks of abroad just like crying alone in my room. which sucked. but after that i had a really good time lol i just had to adjust ya know?? so like let yourself freak out a lil sometimes if you need to, but also don't let that stop you from saying yes to doing things if you can at all help it!! just saying yes to different stuff is my biggest piece of abroad advice.

what a coincidence i am also probably going to spend the first 2 weeks of abroad crying!!

the city i’m staying in is fucking GORGEOUS and i’m already in love with it. the ‘language immersion’ is just gonna be so so hard. my host mom has 3 little kids and every time any of them ask me anything i can’t understand them unless they repeat it like three times and even then it’s like, still all i can do to reply with ‘oui!’

i start my 3 week intensive language program on monday though, so hopefully by the end of that i can at least understand what the fuck is going on ever

They know it’s overwhelming and appreciate that your trying you’ll get more confident as time goes on and when you learn through immersion you learn very fast so in a week or two you will be twice as good as you were don’t be afraid to ask what things mean it’s the only way you grow!
